This position is to ensure Customs regulation compliance throughout all project phases, Customs classification/ valuation/ clearance, as well as to maintain good cooperation with authorities, vendors, Customs brokers etc. • HS code classification and master data collaboration • Support compliance reviewing on Life Science biologic products to identify relevant requirements from regulatory perspective as new product initiative. Determine Customs classification of the goods according to products description and technical data. Apply for import permit according to review and classification results. • Apply Customs policies to Merck product/ technology/ process, evaluate business possibility and support the advocacy. Support Import/Export operation team in case of problematical/complex challenges in their daily operations. • Respond to internal/external inquiries, help resolve shipment customs clearance problems. Prepare Customs review for stakeholders with regulatory change, impact analysis and trade metric. • Customs risk management and mitigation: Report proactively when potential risk is identified, propose and implement the mitigation plan.

"Education and Languages: • Scientific degree in Chemical or Biology relevant. • Fluent in Chinese native & English (verbal and written) is required. Professional Skills and Experience: • Professional experience (approximately 3 years) in a similar position • Sanitary permit, animal& plant import permit application hands-on experience • Familiar with the principle of HS code classification • Comprehensive Customs and international trade experience • Logistics, import/export knowledge Personal Skills and Competencies: • Demonstrated good communication and problem-solving capacities in an international environment. • Effective management by influence. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate outcomes.
